Trial sentenced Corean store owner Soon Ja Du to 5 years probation and 400 hours of community service. The Black community felt justice was not served and that the life of Latasha Harlins was not valued.
1991, March 16th
Latasha Harlins was shot and killed by a Corean store owner.
Latasha Harlins Foundation was formed by Denise Harlins, aunt of Latasha Harlins.
